Vintage: 2008
Vines are hedged
trellised, exposing the grapes to the sun to achieve maximum ripeness.
All vines are irrigated from the nearby Loddon River with ground
level mini sprays. Sauvignon Blanc grapes are planted on light,
well drained soil and cropped at 2-3 tonne per acre.
Stainless steel fermentation at 12- 15 degrees
Celsius. Made cold stable. Earth filtered then sterile filtered
to bottle.
Winemakers Tasting Note
The 2008 Bendigo Sauvignon Blanc is a bright green straw colour. The wine has grassy and lime citrus overtones on the nose.
It exhibits strong citrus flavours on the front of the palate. The mid palate shows some mineral characters with good fruit and acid balance.
The wine has a clean, crisp and persistent finish. Best drinking between now and 2010.
An ideal aperitif and well suited to seafood and lighter summer dining including risotto.
