Known for its big ripe shiraz the Waterwheel 2005 vintage is another approachable Bendigo Shiraz. There's a lovely, soft, inky texture to the wine, with dark, stewed-plum and redcurrant flavours. Easy to drink now, there are gentle tannis to finish, which will help it improve for a few more years yet. Waterwheel reds are just what the doctor ordered for a cold week in the capital.
