Water Wheel Cabernet Sauvignon 2006, $18

- Paddy Kendler, Herald Sun, 1st July 2008.

Though fashion might dictate a stampede for shiraz across Central Victoria, the cabernets should not be ignored. Water Wheel's latest is definately varietal. Its black berry fruit flavour is laced with geen and dried leaves as well as a little aniseed. The typically dry cabernet tannis are evident but not intrusive and the balance is neat and tidy. Will mellow further over the next few years but has opened up enough for current drinking.
